Focus Mitts!

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30p to 6:00p we will offer a Focus Mitt class to work on strikes with emphasis on power, speed and accuracy. We will incorporate a variety of combinations as well as body weight exercises to give you a great 30 minute workout. This class is open to all members of Fight Fit (beginners welcome, all memberships.) Attend on its own for a great cardio workout or follow it up with the Level 1 class right after for an awesome 90 minute training session. Gloves required.

Tai Chi – a great recovery class

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art of slow flowing movements that combine the benefits of exercise and meditation in a single activity. Western scientific research has shown that Tai Chi stimulates the central nervous system, lowers blood pressure, relieves stress, increases bone density, improves immune function, and gently tones muscles without strain. It also strengthens the legs while conditioning the tendons and ligaments of the ankles, knees and hips increasing their range of motion. This class will also feature breathing techniques and yoga like Tibetan exercises.

We understand that Krav Maga can be at times tough on the body and want to provide our students with a way to recovery but still maintain some activity. Starting the first Thursday in April we are adding a Tai Chi class on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm and is open to ALL members of Fight Fit.

This will be a great opportunity for our students to stretch, breath, work the body and at the same time provide some recovery.

Level 1 – the fundamentals!

We are adding another Level 1 class to our schedule – Friday mornings at 11:00am. Level 1 is where you will start your Krav Maga training and many things that are focused on in this level will carry out throughout the system. It is important to continue to train in this level to improve on these basic strikes, kicks and movement and self defense techniques so they become muscle memory and instinctive.

We now offer the following Level 1 classes:

Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning at 11:00am
Monday and Wednesday evening at 7:00pm
Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:00pm

Fuel For Fitness!
If you are taking high intense, cardio driven classes that utilize explosive drills and strength training, like the ones we offer at Fight Fit, then you need to make sure you are providing your body with the best fuel and nutrition to help build muscle and lose fat as well as provides the energy your body needs to keep up with your workouts. Make sure your hard workouts don’t go to waste and feed your body right. You especially have to make sure that you are providing yourself the right amount of nutrition and supplements.

Nutritional supplementation is an effective approach to restoring balance in our bodies whether through the supply of vitamins and minerals, micro-nutrients and proteins, or by taking advantage of the health-promoting effects of natural products.

On Saturday, April 16th at 12noon, we will be hosting a free Nutritional seminar to discuss good eating habits, using supplements to enhance your training efforts.

Fighting Back! Saturday, April 30th 1:00pm to 3:00pm

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Fight Fit, Northeast Ohio’s only Krav Maga and Fit to Fight Self Defense Training Center is offering this two hour self defense seminar designed to teach women and young girls how to fight back against a sexual assault. We will train against common attacks, grabs and holds looking at how to strike, where to strike and when. This is two hours of training – you will punch, kick and palm strike and fight back! Wear comfortable clothes and any sort of training shoes (no bare feet or flip flops.) If you have any questions please give Sarah Fox owner of Fight Fit a call at 440-234-KRAV (5728).

Cost: $20 which will be donated to the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.

This event is open to all WOMEN ages 14 and up. No prior training is needed. (If you are under 18 a parent/guardian must sign a waiver for you to participate.)

We have great students – interesting and fascinating students! And we want to give everyone here the opportunity to let others know what you do and possibly even help one another out. We have created a Community Board in the training center if you are a member please feel free to post a business card or small postcard about your business. Its like a referral board! If you are a real estate agent, roofer, doctor, lawyer, music teacher put a card or two on the board so other Fight Fit students have the chance to utilize your services! Been looking for a financial advisor or a plumber – who knows you may have been training with them all along and didn’t even know it! Check out the board!
