Fight For It

How bad do you want it? How far are you willing to go? What sacrifices are you willing to make?
Whatever it is that you want will probably come with some sort of effort. It could be to improve in something – a better grade or a promotion at work. It could be to achieve a particular physical fitness goal – run a faster mile or lose a certain amount of weight. It could be a lifestyle change – lower your cholesterol.
How about be able to defend yourself in violent attack and get to safety? Absolutely!
All of these things take effort – it takes your time and energy and if put toward a positive goal, it will be time and energy will spent. What you want to achieve is up to you and ONLY you can be the one relied upon to actually do it. Results are often times not seen right away but over a period of time. It often helps to take a bigger goal and break it down into smaller steps. This helps to see your progress. Set backs are just part of the learning process. Resist the urge to let them stop you. Learn from previous mistakes and focus on improving your next attempt. We all face things in our lives that in the beginning seem a huge, sometimes, overwhelming task.
Self Defense teaches us many things – keep going, keep pushing forward, keep trying – if it doesn't work the first time, try again, never give up. Take these principles and apply them to whatever it is your are trying to achieve. You want it? Then, fight for it!
